Domaine Salvat
Languedoc-Roussillon
Since 1881 the Salvat family has cultivated the soils of Taïchac. The vines of the estate are split between the stony terraces of Roussillon and the high granite-soil valley of Agly. We use this diversity to create rich and complex wine blends. The estate produces 12 different high quality wines in the Côtes du Roussillon, Côtes Catalanes and Rivesaltes appellations.

How we work our vines: Pruning from November to March Branches on the ground are collected and crushed. Winter work done with specialist farmer Treatment against powdery mildew mid-April to end of July; Sulphur powder only. 4 Treatments depending on the weather. Ground is worked with hand tools inbetween the rows. In the case of mildew infection, we treat our vines with the Bordeaux mixture, but this is very rare because of the very d²ry climate. Manual trellissing and budding Manual harvest according to type of vinification. Half of our vines are harvested manually, the other half mechanically.
