Domaine de Cezelly - Fitou
Languedoc-Roussillon
The appellation Fitou is the oldest red AOC in Languedoc Roussillon, this groupment of vintners has had the objective of produceing wine of disctinct quality for a long time. Historic figure of the village “Dame de Cézelly” saved the village from an attack of the Spanish in 1590, the 130 artisan wine prducers have chosen her as their symbolic figure. The vineyard roots in the maritime part of Fitou, on the calcareous hills won over by the wine. Windswept, close to the sea and the lakes, it is also surrounded with scrubland.

Vinification: Whole grape, maceration is adapted to suit each grape varietal. Packaging: Bottled on the Estate. Soil Type: Each parcel is different. A range of soils; clay- limestone, rocky, limestone, alluvial soil covered with small round pebbles and sand. Climate and exposure: The Fitou cru is situated in the southern part of the Corbieres, close to the costal zone. Because of their geological situation they benefit form the land as well as maritime influences. Harvesting: The grapes are harvested manually.
