USA : Wine consumtion has been growing solidly for the last 14 years

Wine drinking progressed in the United States in 2007, for the 14th year in a row, rising 3,2 % up to 26,3 million hectoliters. Sales also grew and reached 27,9 billion dollars (18,8 billion €), according to the Beverage Information Group. « If wine continues to grow at these levels, the U.S. will surpass both Italy and France to become both the largest wine market and biggest wine importer in the world by the end of the decade," said Eric Schmidt, manager of information services for the Beverage Information Group.
